Nice work. I think that my respone to the first two paragraphs is important. I was willing to personally contribute to save something that means a lot to the community and to people I know even though I’ve never had a Jucy Lucy. And I think it is the personal contributions that create the sense of community involvement. I may have even been tempted to go there and try it out. However, I have no personal connection when the state makes my donation for me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if the issue is important, the fans should step up and take care of it (in ways other than lobbying to use the money I pay in taxes.)

Biking around town Saturday, I went down Main St. to Shady Oak. Boy, would it be nice to have Shady Oak made into something walk & bike-able. Not more ‘Stroad’!

I find it humorous and ironic that the background on her website is Twilight Breaking Dawn photos, which are no doubt copyrighted, and yet she has added a copyright to her own site…apparently including her hijacked Twilight photos.

I won’t say something like, “She can always make new friends” because that’s impossible to explain to a 4 year old, even as smart as M is. Bee is switching schools this year, and we talked about how exciting it will be to get to explore a whole new school, just hoping against hope she wouldn’t be too disappointed to be leaving her old school.

Oh, yes, I do know that she won’t be ready for Kindergarten at age four and a half. But I’m not so sure she’ll be ready to lose her friends…

Matt, I don’t think you’re wrong. Kids pick up on stuff like this, but I do think she’ll be fine, and that you are doing right by her. We struggled with the prospect of pushing for early enrollment into Kindergarten for Bee (since her birthday is a mere 9 days after the cut-off), but in the end we decided to wait. Like you said, M will start Kindergarten when she’s ready and of age. Those two things together are very important…even though we think our kids might be “ready” academically, they are not of age. One extra year will give both our girls time to develop other skills that will make next year even greater.

Gotta love Bookshelf Porn… I too plan on a library some day. For now five (two homemade from the hubby!) adorn my house… I want enough shelves so I don’t have to stack my books two deep!! I hate not being able to see what’s on my shelf. I have the same pile by my bedside… lol
